Scam alert – Parish.uk

Winchfield Parish Council has been made aware that Parish.UK is passing off its parish websites as ‘official’ and ‘parish-sponsored’. Under this false premise they are then trying to:

  1. Get residents to register (and provide their email addresses)
  2. Get businesses to pay to be in their business register.

This is a scam which attempts to charge businesses, service providers and clubs to continue their business listing. Please be aware that parish council websites exist to serve their community and no charges are ever made to promote businesses, service providers and clubs. Please delete any emails received from an email address ending in parish.uk – they are a bogus organisation and do not act in the best interest of parish councils, organisations and communities. More information can be found at https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/parish.uk

A Small Affordable Housing Development in Winchfield

A public drop-in event was held on Wednesday 26th July in Winchfield Village Hall.

Residents were invited to come along and learn more about how Winchfield Parish Council, in response to a local housing needs survey, is exploring the opportunity for a small development of affordable homes for people with a local connection with the village.

Winchfield Parish Council, Hart Housing officers and English Rural Housing Association were on hand to answer questions.

Further information about the proposed Rural Exception Site can be found on this website and all the information displayed at the event is available on this website. You can also submit questions or comments via the contact page.

Litter Pick

Litter Picks are normally held twice a year and the next one will be held on Sunday 17 March. The last one was held on Sunday, 3 December 2023.  Thirty people volunteered, including six ‘first-timers’, and around 33 bags of litter plus sundry other larger items were collected.  Afterwards everyone enjoyed bacon baps and a catch-up in the village hall!  For further information, please email winchfieldlitterpick@gmail.com

Defibrillators

Defibrillators are installed at the Barley Mow pub, at the Village Hall, at the Railway Station, outside Court Cottage on Bagwell Lane, at Winchfield Court and at The Pheonix Inn pub.

In an emergency always dial 999 first. The ambulance service will be aware that the village has defibrillators and they can provide support over the telephone before an ambulance arrives. Both the defibrillators are in locked cabinets and the ambulance service will be able to advise on how to gain access.
